The Kipawa Countryfest field almost ready for the festival
Earlier this year a new Kipawa Countryfest committee was created to continue with the 18th festival. But a new committee isn’t the only change that’s coming this year.
Through their social media pages, Kipawa Countryfest has been announcing some big changes to this year’s festival, like changes to the field layout, a new “Stage B” and even four headliners – Great Canadian Road Trip, Confederate Railroad, High Valley and Dallas Smith, and these are just some of the changes coming.
“It was really important for us to try and find headliners who would cater to the wide [age range] that we having coming here… so there are going to be two huge days of music, throughout the day we have amazing bands, but the four headliners are definitely going to be something that you don’t want to miss,” said Megg Levesque, a member of the new Kipawa Countryfest committee.
But it’s not just the field and having double the number of headliners that is changing at this year’s festival. “We also have a huge kid’s zone with so many games planned, so many activities for them, so we’re quite looking forward to that,” said Levesque, “we also added a stand-up area with bar tables with a roof for people to just kind of hang around.”
She also added that one of the biggest changes this year was the painting of the Countryfest stage, as well as adding an extension to the stage and screens on either side for people to see pictures of previous festivals and what’s happening on stage.
While there are many changes coming to the 18th annual Kipawa Countryfest, the vibe of the festival will remain as it’s been in previous years. “A very war, happy, big family vibe,” Levesque said.
